The Situations are changing. Today, people want happiness and tranquility by staying from religion unless they are achieved through love and peace. However, love, peace and being kind to others can be acquired when one has complete trust in one's faith. In the Islamic workshop held yesterday evening under the banner of Sunni Centre & Mahboobul Ulema Academy Mauritius in Coromandel, the international Islamic scholar from kichaucha shareef India, Hazrat Syed Alamgir Ashraf Ashrafi Al Jilani addressed the public about leading a good life, building a responsible society and having a pleasant environment at home. He appealed to the people that they embrace Islam and adopt its teachings.
Prophet Muhammad(peace be upon him) said ' One will not be a good human being, forget about a being Muslim, until one does not abide by the teachings of the Qur'an and hadith. To become a good human being, it is essential that one become a good muslim. Therefore, it is the duty of a good Muslim, who never forgets his creator, to obey his commands. The youth of Mauritius even though they somewhat pray, visit Islamic scholars, do not show major improvement to change for the best. It is however, not necessary that Islamic scholars bring changes to their lives unless those Islamic scholars practise tasawwuf and are attached to the awliyah in the likes of Ghawth Al Azam Abd Al Qaadir Al Jilani and Khwajah Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri(May Allah be pleased with them).
Taking all this into consideration, it is then we can conclude that Islamic scholars can bring changes to our lives. The Islamic scholars present in the workshop stressed upon reciting and teaching the Qur'an. If we have the Qur'an , a perfect leader like prophet Muhammad, his household(Ahlul bait) and his companions in our lives, there is no doubt that we will lead a better life all the time. I would therefore appeal to all the masajid to invite the youth for trainings and self development so that they do not deviate and become a victim of drugs and other bad influences. They should work to get them involved in good work for the betterment of the society.
We shall have another big conference in October 2018 having all the islamic scholars of Mauritius on one platform to continue our mission.
